Announcing Global Traceroute v2.6

We are pleased to announce Global Traceroute version 2.5, which contains both new features and enhancements to older ones.

Are you trying to redirect CDN traffic for users of a given ISP, but are feeling blind? Want to see what resolver instance an ISP is using? Or which node of one of the public DNS clouds that ISP's customers would use? Now Global Traceroute can tell you, with two new supported measuring types. Select "Get probe's resolver source address" to learn about a probe's default DNS resolver configuration. Use "Get external resolver source address" to learn about third party resolvers, as seen from the perspective of a given probe.

Version 2.4 enhanceed our measurement history feature by allowing replaying of previous measurements. Old and new results are displayed side by side, allowing you to quickly assess whether anything has changed since the previous measurement.

Version 2.5 expands on that feature by providing sharable links for saved measurements. With Global Traceroute v2.5, you can share Global Traceroute results with colleagues, partners, customers, and vendors, allowing them to see results as you saw them and restest to guage whether problems are resolved.

Global Traceroute uses RIPE Atlas probes. RIPE Atlas is a dynamic, global network of thousands of probes that have been measuring Internet connectivity and reachability in near real time since 2010. Anyone can directly access the data collected by RIPE Atlas, as well as Internet maps, graphs, tools and analyses based on the aggregated results, at https://atlas.ripe.net. RIPE Atlas was developed and is operated by the RIPE NCC, along with the help of thousands of volunteers.
